Green cherry and cord stool

Cherry legs with Ash stretchers. The seat is woven from Danish Cord, which is a paper based material and a traditional form of seating.  The Artisan: I’m used to working in Green Wood, which is unseasoned, reasonably fresh off the tree. In the case of Stools I cleave and shape the legs from Ash, Cherry or Plum from Green Wood as it’s easier to work when still fresh. I cleave the wood with Axe and Froe, and use a draw knife to cut down to size on the shave horse. Legs are then dried over a few weeks.
