Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions 2023

By making a booking, you agree that you have read the Terms and Conditions and agree to be bound by them. The lead name on the booking will be the person responsible for the Booking and shall be responsible for paying the deposit and the full price, for making any amendment and cancellation requests, and for the payment of any additional charges. The lead name accepts these Terms and Conditions on behalf of all persons in the Booking.

Adhurst Yurts will only handle bookings from persons over 18 years of age. We reserve the right, at all times – without statement of reasons – to refuse a booking.

A booking is confirmed on receipt of full payment or a 25% non-refundable deposit. Deposits can only be taken if a booking has a check-in date of more than 10 weeks away. For all bookings that have a check-in date of less than 10 weeks before check-in, payment for the booking will be required in full and the entire booking will be non-refundable. Both balance and deposit are non-refundable. Payments online are in full unless you state “deposit only” by email to info@adhurst.co.uk quoting your booking. Please do this straight away if you are booking over ten weeks in advance.

Deposits – Where a deposit has been paid, full balance payment will be due 10 weeks in advance of your check-in date. We automatically take the balance payment using the same card as used to make the deposit payment. It is your responsibility to advise us if we should use a different card and to contact us by telephone (+447789 954476) to arrange for an alternative payment method within ten weeks or longer of your arrival.

Insurance – You are STRONGLY recommended to take out personal travel insurance for all members of your party for your holiday, ensuring as well that the insurance is valid for holidays within the UK. It is your responsibility to ensure that the insurance cover is adequate for your needs, including cancellation and curtailment for any reason. Please read your policy details carefully and take them with you on your holiday.

Vehicles – Your booking allows for ONE vehicle. You will have a designated parking space.  Extra vehicles are charged for parking. Any approved additional vehicles must book parking. We request the number plates for any overnight parking. This is to help us know if a vehicle is not authorised to be here. Also, vehicles are not permitted on the woodland site except for initial drop-off and once again for departure.  No vehicles to be left on site overnight or for more than half an hour.  Parking is provided elsewhere on the farm.  Please be prepared to walk back to your yurt or cabin from the car park after you have returned it to the car park.  Please do not drive your vehicle into the woods during your stay except for arrivals and departures which are kept brief. This is to ensure that guests are safe, vehicles don’t damage our woods and guests don’t see your vehicle instead of pristine nature.

Amendments – Any amendment request must be sent to us by email and will be considered and responded to within one business day of receipt. We will always try to help but we cannot guarantee that such requests will be met. Tell us as soon as possible for the best response and please understand that within a month of your holiday, these changes might not be possible. There is a £35 administration fee for approved changes as we must update multiple websites and third parties. Our aim is to always ensure that a change does not result in a double-booking somewhere else within the system. Date swaps, if granted, are only valid for 12 months and are issued purely at the discretion of the owners.

Pets – It is the responsibility of the pet owner to request permission to bring a pet to Adhurst. Each request is dealt with individually and so far none have been denied. However, if we believe that other guests on the same dates will be adversely affected by your pet, we might not allow it to come. All pets must be kept on a leash when near sheep or horses and generally kept under control at all times. Please clear dog mess, as a dog’s diet means their poop contains contaminants not normally present in a woodland habitat. Please never leave your pet unattended. You will be liable for any damage or injury caused by your pet. Pets that you can easily carry are £30. Pets that are cumbersome to carry are £50. Some pets, such as assistance dogs, are free. If in doubt, always ask first.

Tents – It is not permitted to bring tents to Adhurst under any circumstances. If additional accommodation is needed for a group booking, we have bell tents. These are only permitted if you have booked every space at Adhurst first. If any other guests not in your group are staying on site, then extra bell tents will not be available, but may be available in a nearby location. Always ask.

Smoking, Confetti and BB/Airsoft Guns – Please do not smoke in our yurts! Do not use BB guns of any description on site. If we find pellets, we will come look for you and make you pick up every single one. We will also enforce a £500 fine for littering with confetti or BB gun pellets. It can take years to collect every last day-glo pellet or bit of sparkle off the forest floor. Do not even think about bringing these things.

Complaints – We aim to provide the best possible holiday experience. However, if you have any complaints or problems during your stay, please immediately notify the owners or staff by calling or texting +447789954476 or emailing info@adhurst.co.uk. If you do not follow this procedure, we will not be able to investigate or resolve your complaint. If you withhold your complaint from us during your stay and then make a public complaint, we will commence legal proceedings. Any attempt to blackmail us with threats of bad reviews will also be met with legal proceedings. Independent tourism businesses try very hard to ensure your holiday is enjoyable – you must notify us and allow us the space to fix problems. Abuse to ourselves or our staff or community will simply not be tolerated.

Visitors – We do not accept outside visitors dropping in on paying guests, unless pre-arranged at booking. This is done to ensure that all guests enjoy the site at its proper capacity. A day guest must never drive a vehicle onto the yurt site. This must be discussed before you arrive for your holiday.

Commercial Use – We enable the use of our glamping spaces for domestic and private use only. You agree not to use the Property for any commercial, business or resale purpose. Any photography or recordings taken for unarranged commercial or business use will have all rights retained by Adhurst Ltd in perpetuity.

Events – If you are booking a group event, you will need to ensure this is clear to us before booking. Rates vary and we will need to factor in catering, parking arrangements, sanitation arrangements, any temporary structures, rubbish clearance, health and safety forms, etc. The definition of an Event is one person booking more than one space or multiple members of a group booking spaces independently on the same dates. A hen weekend or stag weekend is considered an Event. We do not permit outside contractors except in special circumstances and at our discretion. We need to know in advance to ensure there is no chance of disturbing other guests.

Fishing – Please see our Wild Fly Fishing Syndicate information. Fishing incurs an extra charge. Only really suitable for experienced anglers. Fishing is catch and release, by fly only, fished upstream, with dry flies and nymphs permitted, maximum size 10 standard barbless hook. Lures are not permitted. Wading is allowed at your own risk. All fish must be returned to the river unharmed.

Pricing and Information – Adhurst Yurts reserves the right to amend advertised prices at any time. We also reserve the right to correct errors in both advertised and confirmed prices. Information on our website might have changed by the time you come to make your booking. Although we make every possible effort to ensure all information is up to date, occasionally errors can occur.

Force Majeure – Force Majeure on the side of Adhurst Yurts exists if the booking is entirely or partially, temporarily or permanently, prevented due to circumstances which are beyond the control of Adhurst Yurts, including threat of war, strikes, blockades, pandemics, fire, floods and other disruptions or events. It is always advisable to have your own Holiday Insurance.

Assumption of Risks – Remember that you will be camping outdoors with live animals and other natural hazards, such as rabbit holes. The wood burner will get hot and if touched could burn. Whilst we take great care to keep guests safe, accidents can happen, and Adhurst Yurts are not responsible for such accidents (to the greatest extent permitted by law). It is your responsibility to supervise any children. If you notice that any equipment looks faulty and/or unsafe, you must inform us as soon as possible.

Damage – We do not normally require a damage deposit, but if any damage that is beyond normal wear and tear should occur, you will be held responsible for replacements. A single broken plate is not chased. We mean if someone carves into trees or pours wax on blankets etc.

Purchasing Wood – The chopped wood inside your yurt is £20 and subsequent trugs must be booked by 11 A.M. for same day delivery. The wood outside by your fire bowl is complimentary. If you’d like more, it’s £15. Some of you will have prepaid for the chopped wood, and others can pay while on site by cash or card. Unless of course, you don’t use the wood in which case just ignore this!

Again, we advise anyone to take out travel insurance against the risk of accidents and/or your stay being cut short.

Thank you for reading the fine print.
