The one with the spiral shower
Chestnut Yurt is our most cosy space. Chestnut faces onto spectacular ancient woodland, with a charming view from the lozenge shaped window. The yurt and its adjacent safari kitchen are under an old chestnut tree, hence the name! Arrival in October will guarantee a harvest of nuts from the tree to roast on your fire bowl…
Chestnut offers something many guests love, the simplicity of woodland living with the convenience of your own private shower and compost toilet.
Tucked amongst the trees in its own peaceful corner of Adhurst, Chestnut is a cosy 16ft yurt designed for couples, solo travellers and small families looking to slow down and spend time outdoors.
Inside you’ll find a fully made-up double bed, wood burner and comfortable living space beneath the canvas. Outside, a covered safari kitchen provides everything needed for outdoor cooking, from morning coffee beneath the trees to supper around the fire as daylight fades.
A short path from the yurt leads to your own private outdoor shower and compost toilet, reserved exclusively for Chestnut guests.
Footpaths wind through the woodland and down to the River Rother, where guests can paddle, explore and enjoy the peace of the water before returning to the warmth of the fire and the comfort of the yurt.
Like all of Adhurst, Chestnut is properly off-grid. There are no plug sockets, televisions or WiFi. Instead you’ll find lantern light, wood smoke, woodland paths and the quiet you forgot existed.
Simple, comfortable and wonderfully private, Chestnut is a favourite with guests looking to escape the pace of everyday life.
