Chestnut Yurt is our most intimate and cosy space. Like our cabin, Chestnut faces onto spectacular ancient woodland. And the view from the lozenge-shapped window is charming. It also features a hammock attached to two majestic chestnut trees – hence the name Chestnut Yurt! Definitely worth a visit in September/October when you can gather those chestnuts and roast them on the fire bowl!
Chestnut is about 100 metres from Birch and Redwood Yurts but it doesn’t face either of them so feels entirely private. The safari kitchen is much larger than the yurt and has running water and two burner gas hob as well as all cooking implements, fire bowl, storm kettle and supply of camp fire wood. Inside it’s super cosy with a supply of chopped firewood for your wood burner. The walling-canvas in the photos of the interior has actually been upgraded recently and is a khaki colour. There’s a double iron bedstead with ONE camp bed underneath – but if your children are tiny we can easily fit in a second camp bed. Just ask. Personally this is our favourite yurt for couples with their dog. A super-romantic getaway. And if you’re glamping with other families it works rather well with Redwood Yurt and Birch Yurt together!
